Walt Disney World’s Skyliner

Travel by Aerial Gondola at Walt Disney World Resort. The Disney Skyliner is a gondola cable-car system now operating at Walt Disney World in Florida. The system is now operating six stations connecting the Disney Pop Century, Disney Art of Animation, Caribbean Beach, the newly opened DVC Riviera Resort with two theme parks. The Skyliner connects to Epcot at the International Gateway and Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

The Skylines system was installed as an alternative to expanding the expensive monorail system and it also has the potential to move more people faster and more efficiently than the Disney World bus routes. The gondolas are fully enclosed, air conditioned cars capable of holding about 8 to 10 guests.

So now there’s a ride to get you to the rides. Regularly scheduled hours are 10:00 AM* – 11:00 PM for EPCOT International Gateway, and 9:00 AM – 10:00 PM for Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Service can sometimes be suspended for lightning storms.

In addition to providing efficient transportation it also can be used to expand your options for seeing more of Disney World. For instance if you are staying at Disney Pop Century, Disney Art of Animation, Caribbean Beach or the DVC Riviera Resort you can take a Skyliner trip over to EPCOT International Gateway it also provides easy access to one of Disney Worlds neighborhoods, The Boardwalk. A few minute walk from International Gateway will take you to the Boardwalk with over a dozen good restaurants, evening entertainment venues, shops and that seaside boardwalk vibe or you could take a boat ride from International Gateway to Disney Hollywood Studios.

Guests at any of the five Boardwalk area hotels can also take the Skyliner over to visit the Art of Animation, Caribbean Beach or the Riviera Resort. All-in-all a very good ride.
