A popular port of call for Alaska cruising is Icy Straight Point. It is a major complex operated by the Huna Tlingit tribe that includes cable cars a cannery museum, a number of restaurants, a zip line and excursion center. The Tlingit seem to be doing very well. The area has been occupied by the Tlingit for centuries and a little over a mile from the Icy Straight Point port is the Tlingit town of Hoonah, the largest Tlingit village in southeast Alaska.
