The Point Atkinson Lighthouse was built in 1888 on the western tip of Point Atkinson in West Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. It was built to warn ships of the dangerous reef and shoals in the area. The lighthouse was originally powered by kerosene, but it was electrified in 1930. The lighthouse was automated in 1975 and is currently operated by the Canadian Coast Guard.
