A Hike On Oahu’s North Shore

Looking for a nice hike of a couple of hours while in Oahu? Head to the famous North Shore and Waimea Valley near Waimea Bay.

Waimea Falls, also known as Waihi Falls, is probably the most accessible falls on Oahu. It is located within Waimea Valley, which is a beautiful Hawaiian botanical garden featuring significant cultural and archaeological exhibits.
The Waimea Valley Trail is a two mile hike round-trip located near Haleiwa, Oahu, Hawaii that features a waterfall and is good for all skill levels even those that are in wheelchairs. The trail is mostly on sidewalks and paved surface and is dedicated to hiking, walking, and nature tours and is open year-round.

The parks entry fee is $18 per person and there are a number of historic exhibits and a nice gift shop and gallery. Another option is to wear a swimsuit and take a swim under the falls. Visitors are required to wear provided life vests to swim in.
If you are also looking for a nice walking beach just a couple of miles west along Kamehameha Highway from the valley is Kawailoa Beach . It features a couple of miles of beautiful sand beach and beautiful views of the islands coast on the north shore.
