Todays Images • Montevideo Protest Art

Walking around Montevideo, Uruguay there is a lot of street art as well as protest stencils like pictured above. On one block we found five different stencils all protesting the treatment of animals and all in the same size and style. The had a remarkable amount of detail in the stencil production. They also raised a number of social questions without much in the way of answers.

A protest wall translates into a series of confusing messages. THE INTERNET IS A DRUG • I DON’T HAVE A MUSTACHE • DO I RESIGN OR DO I REPORT? • WORK THE DAY • WHAT • DHERO(?) • NOVEMBER • I LIVE WITH WORK • STAIN FOR LIBERATION. Perhaps a bit of angst mixed with discontent?

And political art demanding FREE LULA!
