Introduction: While reviewing hotels and restaurants is common on the internet it’s just not something we’ve paid much attention to.. That’s partly because, if you look, there are a large number of sites where you can find thousands of valuable reviews including Trip Advisor, Google Maps and Expedia and we often use them ourselves as great references for researching a trip.. Recently, while involved in an online forum we realized that reviews could have a valuable place with The Intentional Travelers. Going forward our intent is not to dwell on a lot of reviews but to make note of only specific exceptional discoveries. We are also working on a process that would allow followers to offer their finds as well (more to come).

Best Western Presidenti in Rome, Italy

This is a 4-star hotel near Rome’s Colosseum and the Colosseum Metro Station.

We’ve visited Rome a number of times and usually select a hotel near the termni, making it convenient to catch trains and the Metro. On our last visit we traveled with our son and his family and he is the one that suggested the Best Western Presidenti. We were pleasantly surprised. Rates were very reasonable and in line with other Rome hotels, it was a short six or seven block walk to the Colosseum and a similar distance to the termini.

Best Western still allows us to use our Best Wester points (that’s becoming rare in Europe hotels) and with our Best Western membership, breakfast was free. The staff was friendly and very helpful and the rooms were much more than expected. Our son got a 2 bedroom suite for US$360 per night in season…

We usually use public transportation in Rome and catch trains to the airport and to Civitavecchia to catch a cruise. In asking for options to the airport the desk person said they used a car service and they booked our transfer at a really good fare 😉
