Great Food Finds In Sydney, Australia
While there are literally thousands of places for food, coffee and treats in downtown Sydney we’ve found a few that deserve special mention.
Emperor’s Cream Puff

This jewel is a stand in Chinatown and tops our list of treats. Any time of day you’ll find a line in front of this shop and for very good reason. These deep fried balls of dough are filled with a custard and once you get over the lava hot center it’ll be hard to stop binging. Located in Sydney’s Chinatown at 31 Dixon St, Haymarket NSW 2000.

Gumption in QVB

While Sydney has a few Gumption coffee shops our favorite is in the Queen Victoria Building. What better location to enjoy a great coffee than in this remarkable shopping center?
Black Star Pastry for Watermelon Cake

We’ve never experienced Watermelon Cake and it’s probably a good thing that it’s in Sydney and not near our home. We like watermelon but Black Star has elevated it to something worthy of royalty. It’s served in a take-away box that actually matches the excellence of this confection. Shop 26, Ground Floor/500 George St, Sydney.
ASLAN Coffee Roasters The Rocks

We love exploring in Sydney’ The Rocks and Aslan is a coffee shop that takes its brew very seriously. You won’t find a better place for a coffee break in the famous Rocks neighborhood. 25 Nurses Walk, The Rocks, Sydney NSW 2000.
Sydney Fish Market

The Best Seafood In Sydney. Australia is known for great seafood but you can’t do any better than the Sydney Fish Market. It’s actually the center for seafood wholesale and retail companies in NSW and it naturally is home to a number of seafood restaurants. You won’t find any better seafood anywhere. Corner Pyrmont Bridge Rd &, Bank St, Pyrmont NSW 2009, Sydney, Australia.

A Special Shout Out to the 4 Pines Brewpub – Australians love their brews and this micro-brewery is located a half block from the Manley Ferry Terminal. This pub is very popular with the locals offering a wide range of beers on tap along with light pub fare. A great place to end a good day...
Please Note: While reviewing places is common on the internet it’s just not something we’ve paid much attention to.. That’s partly because, if you look, there’re a large number of sites where you can find thousands of valuable reviews including Trip Advisor, Google Maps and Expedia and we often use these as great references for researching a trip.. Recently, while involved in an online forum we realized that reviews could have a valuable place with The Intentional Travelers. Going forward our intent is not to dwell on a lot of reviews but to make note of only specific exceptional discoveries and we are working on a process that would allow you to offer your finds as well (more to come).
