Yokohama Cruise Port To Tokyo

Cruise Port of Yokohama to Central Tokyo And Narita Airport

Getting to and from your cruise in Yokohama can be a challenge. Taxis and transfers can be expensive and navigating public transportation requires a bit of research and dealing with a difficult language issue. In years of traveling the world, Japan was probably the most difficulty we’ve experienced.

Getting from the cruise pier in Yokohama into central Tokyo can be a fast and inexpensive trip using the Nihon-Odori Metro train. Located only a few blocks from the cruise piers the station is well marked and easy to access. To purchase tickets for the Nihon-Odori subway line into Tokyo you can use the following methods:

Avoid Tokyo Rush Hours – If you are traveling with suitcases you will need to avoid city metro rush hours that peak on week days between 7am and 9:30 am in the morning and shortly after 5pm in the evening; however, morning rush hours tend to be heavier than evening rush hours. Rush hours are most extreme in the metro Tokyo systems.

Ticket Vending Machines: These machines are located at all stations and accept cash, most credit cards, Suica cards, and PASMO cards. You can select your destination and the number of tickets you need, and the machine will calculate the fare.

Station Staff: You can also purchase tickets from station staff at ticket booths. They can assist you with purchasing tickets and provide information about fares and routes (English is not often understood).

Mobile Apps: Some mobile apps, such as the Tokyo Metro app, allow you to purchase tickets and store them on your smartphone.

Fare Information: The fare for the Nihon-Odori subway line varies depending on the distance traveled. You can find the fare information on the Tokyo Metro website or at the station ticket vending machines.

Operating Hours The Nihon-Odori subway line typically operates from around 5:30 AM to 12:30 AM. However, the hours may vary slightly depending on the day of the week and the time of year. You can find the latest operating hours on the Tokyo Metro website.
