We have a special fondness for Athens and its port city of Piraeus and we’ve visited a number times. When visiting we often stay in Piraeus whith its charming marina area away from the main port, that features a number of great eateries on the marina. Piraeus also has a number of remarkable museums including a WWII Liberty ship museum in the central harbor. Of course the main attraction is the Athens Acropolis and from Piraeus its only a 45 minute, $2 Metro ride away.
